Innovation District Breda is an urban ecosystem where businesses, education, knowledge, talent and government work together on innovation. But it’s not just about buildings and square metres. It’s about what happens between those buildings.
By bringing living, working, learning and meeting closer together, more opportunities for collaboration arise. You cross paths, share knowledge, test ideas and find the right people more quickly.
Breda already has a great deal going for it: educational institutions, creative courses, innovative companies and an entrepreneurial culture. The Innovation District brings these qualities together and gives them greater direction and impact.
Two clusters, one ambition
Breda has a strong foundation in applied technology and creativity. With Robotics & AI and Games & Creative Technology, we are building on that foundation. Both clusters bring together businesses, educational programmes and expertise that can strengthen one another. The ambition is to bring technology into practice more quickly. This creates opportunities for entrepreneurs and talent, as well as for addressing challenges facing the city and region.
Robotics & AI
Smart robots, AI and data enable applications that make work and processes in industries such as manufacturing, logistics, healthcare and agri-food more efficient, safer and more sustainable.
Games & Creative Technology
Games and creative technology make learning, training and experiences more interactive. They help make complex issues understandable and tangible.
Six subregions, one network
The Innovation District connects six areas in Breda, each with its own character and function. Together, they form a compact urban area where working, learning, entrepreneurship, living and meeting come together. The proximity of businesses, educational institutions, makers and talent creates space for collaboration and new ideas.
