Cor: “For Robbert, innovation is a way of life. At fourteen, he put his music online, long before that was commonplace. Free tracks, his own website, direct contact with fans. But however international his career has become, his roots remain in Breda. For example, he has his documentaries made by a guy he met in a local pub, who has since achieved international fame. CM handles the ticketing, he works with BUas and, on world tours, Bredan talent appears in the support act. Something beautiful happens when you give each other those opportunities. Dare to think big, but remain rooted in your city.”
Robbert: “In the search for the very best, it’s easy to overlook each other. You can prevent that by always looking close to home first to see what you can do for one another. That’s exactly what Breda is aiming to achieve with the Innovation District: joining forces locally for a greater goal. We train wonderkids here in gaming and robotics; internationally, we’re genuinely leading the way in these fields. They are our assets, our frontrunners. But too often, they fly away. If we create a vibrant environment with workspaces, businesses and events, we can keep that talent here. And everyone benefits from that. In this way, Breda can establish an international reputation as a city where creativity and technology come together.”
